Have you read lots of books that revolve around motivational, inspirational or any kinds of article that pushes you to achieve set goals?. Have you tried adopting the principles in those articles and it feels like you are heading nowhere? Are you familiar with some life hacks?.
Well, lucky for you that is what this article is all about. Hacking your life. A lot of great performers make use of this principle to operate being fully aware of its fantastic and positive yielding results. Hacking your life is all about creating efficient fallback systems that tally with your goals and help to prevent negligence of your needed actions.
Creating hacks for your life also helps to prevent the imperfections and the erring nature of man. To be sincere I have found myself on several occasions where I have been fixated and bent on accomplishing a task and I failed most of the time at achieving it and not hitting my desired target.
The following life hacks below would greatly influence your productivity and efficiency:
- Keeping friends that would impact you positively or that are willing to embrace positive change.
- Reading good books.
- Removing unhealthy foods.
- Watching positive movies.
- The placement of items, gadgets, or equipment in your house.
1. Keeping friends that would impact you positively or that are willing to embrace positive change.
The truth remains that the friends we keep are really lubricants to the change we see in our lives. This can be either achieved indirectly( for instance when you want to be part of the group by trying to emulate them) or directly( for instance when you are talked to by your friend and stimulated to be like them through direct interactions).
It is advised to keep great and fantabulous friends around that are in line with your desired goals. Have you looked at the life of some “successful people”? Have you tried to check the type of friends they kept that brought them to where they are currently? The influence of friends can make you or mar you.
I could remember when I tried learning to code for the first time. I didn’t have any friend that was into it and that made the whole process difficult for me to engage and be productive. If not for the level of self-motivation I garnered to learn it, I might have given up on it. Well, not having physical friends that could help me out with programming made me cling on to virtual friends(wonderful friends) that I met on some coding platforms. And having friends in the field helped improve my learning rate. And now that I have physical friends that are knowledgeable in the field. The experience feels a whole lot better..
2. Reading Goods Books
Having experienced the issues of life first hand has its own advantages but believe me, not all experiences are worth venturing for. And that is where books come in. The good thing about books is that you tend to get the narrated experience of another person that is written down without having to experience it physically.
If you want to be knowledgeable about something you have no idea of, then, reading books would be a totally good option for you. In this life hack, you can learn a whole lot of other tasks and situation. You can also learn about science, art, philosophy, economics and other scopes by reading. This hack is very important.
3. Removing Unhealthy Foods
Do you have those fitness goals that you’ve tried attaining but it seems pretty hard? Does it seem like it ain’t gonna happen?. A lot of times we fall into temptations that tilts our focus from where we want it to be to fancies that we don’t want.
We forget how bad we will feel when indulging in such acts and nemesis still flows. However, the good thing here is that one of the best ways from abstaining from unhealthy food is by discarding them or not buying them at all. When we have unhealthy foods nearby the prospect of forgetting your goal and just focus on eating unhealthy food kicks in.
Sometimes, mind games and battles kick off in our mind. But when there is no unhealthy food for you to see, you are unlikely and less liable to get the unhealthy food into your mouth.
4. Watching Positive Movies
You have probably heard of the statement that says, “garbage in and garbage out” The movies you watch also helps to influence you. Most of you reading this post can agree with me on occasions where you’ve gotten upset, put on a movie that made you laugh and that changed your mood immediately. This is a life hack.
Sometimes when you feel bad, you got to chill your self out rather than burn up with depression. Watching positive videos or clips every morning before you start your work creates this aura of positivity around you.
5. The placement of items, gadgets, or equipment in your house
Placement of items and gadgets in potential areas that affect your goals positively is an effective life hack. Most of you reading this article have set certain goals with the orientation of just having total control of your mind and achieving those goals.
Well, a lot of times we are affected by the inefficiency of our body to the mind. Which I call the “body to mind latency”. This is when your body fails to keep up to your mind expectations. So to solve this issue. We need to hack our life by changing the placement of items.
For instance, a lot of you set an alarm to wake you up early but we snooze it multiple times( that is your body failing to sync with the expectations of your mind. So what do you do?. Don’t keep the alarm near you.
Rather keep it some distance away. This would pose a difficulty for you to snooze thereby, instilling the energy required to wake up. Also if you want to run in the morning. You can set your sneakers nearer to your bed to make sticking to the plan easy. Try changing the position of the objects around you to effectively suit your goals.
